Pets Insurance
Taking your pet on holiday is an exciting time...
Let's get packing….not forgetting Fido's favourite toy or Jinty's old blanket, but is surprising how many forget our pets insurance!
Usually we insure ourselves but our pets need insuring too!
Remember your pet will be in unfamiliar surroundings and although holidays are fun there's never a 100% guarantee that things will run smoothly.
A few examples:
- Being in unfamiliar surroundings your pet could get lost, apart from this being devastating and a worrying time it can also cost time and money to find your pet!
Pet insurance (check your policy that it is covered) can help pay for advertisement in newspapers and printed leaflets, and some insurers even offer a found reward! (Check your policy to make sure this is covered) this giving you a much better chance of finding your pet safely and quickly. - Remember you'll be in someone else's home… your pet maybe well behaved and know the boundaries when in your own property, but sometimes your pets are taken from a secure environment they can sometimes become a little distressed…especially if you leave them alone…most pets won't even have a problem, but just in case your better to be covered…some insurers offer cover for damage to holiday property (again check your insurer offers this service and it is included in your policy) anything can happen from a ripped eiderdown to scratched doors.
- If the unthinkable should happen at home or away…you will need cover…a car accident can be totally devastating and worrying to say the least, not only do you want your pet to get better your worrying about the cost of it all… insurance is important at this stage when bills can run into hundreds! We always say it will never happen to us! Fingers crossed it doesn't.
