Most pet owners would love to take their pets away on holiday with them; well they are part of the family!

With the pets directory it is now a realistic option, UK breaks and holidays in all sorts of accommodation are available on the site ensuring a fun and happy time for all the Family.

With the launch of The Pet Travel Scheme (PETS) in 2000, which allows cats and dogs to re-enter the UK without quarantine, (please check exceptions apply for certain countries)

It is now possible to try further a field; there is no reason why you should leave your best friend behind! If you are looking for accommodation in an area not listed just contact us and we will point you in the right direction.

All the properties listed on the pets directory take pets of some description; but always check with the owner what pets they allow and how many; you do not want to take your furry rabbit to find they take only reptiles! Always check your pet will be welcome.

Top Tip ...contact the owners and talk about your requirements before booking!

Once you have booked or you have decided that you want you're pet to travel with you, make yourself a check list.

This is small check list example for traveling within the UK:

  • Get your pet fitted with a microchip at your local veterinary surgery (*** Click here ***).
  • You may want to consider getting an insurance policy for your pet to cover your best friend. A lot of insurance policies not only cover your pets vet bills but also include public liability insurance, just in case your pet causes damage to somebody else's property. (*** Click here ***)
  • Take your pets bedding and cage/crate if used and any favorite toys to help them feel at home.
  • Take some old towels to clean your pet before re-entering your accommodation. I am sure they'll be in rivers streams or beaches and they will get happily covered in dirt.
Another thing we ask you is Please respect the owner's accommodation, and leave it in the same way as it was when you arrived.

Make sure your pet is clean before entering the property after walks etc.

That you use your own bedding on any furniture, groom your dog on paper or outside if it is warm; just generally look after the property as if it was your own.

This keeps owners happy and they are more likely to keep accepting pets in the future.
